Health Issues – Sharing Information:

I ask all my clients to bring with them a history of their background, you are able to complete our Client Intake Form  using your computer or alternatively I will ask you to fill this in when you arrive.  If there is more than what is shown on the form or you wish to write your history on a piece of paper to bring this with you that we can attach to the ‘welcome form’ feel free to do that as well.  Doing this gives you time to reflect without needing to ‘think on your feet’ so to speak, with the possibility of missing something out.

Some relevance to achieving your goals

  • How was your upbringing – loving, controlling, abusive (psychological of       physical) etc.
  • Did your parents have issues – Anger, Alcohol or Gambling problems.
  • What was school like – were you bullied, made to feel embarrassed etc.
  • Did you undergo any child sexual abuse or rape
  • Have you ever had any injury or accident
  • Have you experienced trauma of any sort – hold up, found out your spouse cheated on you, your parent(s) died, had a miscarriage etc.
  • Do you suffer from problems – alcohol, gambling, eating disorder such a bulimia/anorexia, depression, migraine headaches, insomnia, irritable bowel syndrome, finger nail biting, asthma, psoriasis, etc.
  • Are you on medication – what sort, what for, how long, do you suffer from any side effects from this.

Anything else I haven’t mentioned?  When did the problem start? what have you done about it to date?  What worked/what didn’t?

You may think some of these questions are personal, especially if you are coming to see me to stop a habit such as smoking.  Here is why I ask these questions:

Problems come in many packages –

Habits through continual repetition that have now become entrenched and difficult to break, and/or…

A negative happening that we are unable to release from our mind and body, one that we may even feel we have dealt with because it was that long ago, or is under awareness as we have moved on with life from that time.  “Your nervous system remembers.”

We don’t know of anything that may be relevant, so need to check that out.

If we have problems releasing a habit, say such as smoking or weight, there could be a possibility that it is now helping you cope with a past negative happening.  If you have a problem that is holding you back from achieving, there could be a possibility there is a memory put there from a past happening to avoid the possibility of failure in the future.

I check whilst you are in hypnosis those things in your history you  mentioned no longer affect you.  If not, then my motto is, “If it isn’t broke, we move on!”  I am not looking for continued work, I am looking for short-term results and a happy client that brings me future referrals.

The session comprises of the following:

COUNSELLING about your history and the issue you want help with

EXPLANATION about hypnosis, expectations and other therapies that may be relevant to your issue

MAKING A CONTRACT with you about what you want me to achieve for you and what we decide to do to make that happen

HYPNOTHERAPY taking you into the relaxed lowered brainwave state of hypnotherapy

RELEASING YOUR ISSUE in the trance state




A Program of 2 sessions will cost you $250:00

If you elect to have just one session it will cost you $150:00

All sessions go for 2 hours.

If you are in a health fund, you would need to check with your health fund provider about claims.  Some funds do, some funds don’t cover hypnotherapy.  Some funds only cover psychologists doing the hypnosis, by virtue of being a psychologist.

Note* Psychology is not Hypnotherapy, whilst some processes overlap i.e. counselling, psychological process,  it is the knowledge and skills of hypnotherapy

that create the changes.  Some researches say that up to 70% of change comes about through the trust and interaction between client and therapist.
